Gardens of Punta Gorda Walking Tour
When visionary Colonel Isaac Trabue founded Punta Gorda he imagined it would become a “villa town” and from the start designated the waterfront property as public parks.
We start at the parking garage on Herald Court, make our way to Retta Esplanade and wind through the historic neighborhood to History Park. At History Park meet with a Master Gardener who tours us around the park, pointing out specific plants and sharing seeds. We end the 2 and 1/2 hour walking tour back at the parking garage. The walking tour is about 2 and 3/4 miles.
Tickets are $19 for adults and $9 for accompanied minors 16 and under. Tickets must be purchased in advance. A percentage of the ticket price is donated to the Punta Gorda Historical Society.
We’ll meet and end at the free parking garage on Herald Court. (See map below.)
This tour is offered October 1-March 31 on the second and fourth Saturdays from 2-4:30 PM.
