Sightseeing Tours in Punta Gorda

Southwest Florida Walking Tours is dedicated to promoting one of Florida’s most charming historic towns – Punta Gorda.

This beautiful Royal Poinciana tree on Retta Esplanade survived Hurricane Ian!
Hurricane Ian damaged this original brick wall and alley which was repaired in 2024.
PG Waterfront Inn & Suites was demolished in August 2024.
On this historic site was built the very first home in Punta Gorda, a modest shack belonging to Madison Lanier and his pioneer family. In 1897, Punta Gorda’s first millionaire, Perry McAdow, built his elaborate party home on the same site, which featured an exotic tropical garden, of which the banyan tree is the sole survivor. After his death, the McAdow home was converted to Bayshore Lodge, which sadly was demolished to build a Holiday Inn in 1966.
